Position Purpose:
The Senior Manager of Strategy and Implementation is a pivotal role that combines strategic planning with hands-on execution in the technical and performance organization. They are responsible for developing forward-thinking strategies and implementing solutions while building strong partnerships across operations and T&P teams to ensure sustainable improvements and value creation. This leader plays a crucial role in fostering a collaborative technical community, focusing on talent development, and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Additionally, they manage key strategic initiatives and drive knowledge sharing both internally and externally.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Initiative Ownership: Lead strategic initiatives to shape the T&P's evolution across identified focus objectives.
- Planning & Execution: Maintain a high-level work plan with clearly defined milestones, deliverables, timelines and assigned responsibilities. Proactively identify and manage dependencies, risks, and roadblocks. Regularly track progress against the plan and adjust as needed. Communicate regular updates and document key decisions, action items, and success stories.
- Community Building: Foster and nurture the Technical & Performance (T&P) community through support of the operating rhythm which includes an annual in-person event, regular All-Hands meetings, leadership meetings, Lunch-n-Learns, the Intranet page and Google space.
- Stakeholder Management: Identify, engage and manage all relevant stakeholders and appropriate subject matter experts, ensuring effective communication and alignment. Build strong mutual respect even in challenging situations. Maintain and evolve the T&P communications annual plan.
- Leadership: Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions toward implementation of the strategic plan. Utilize change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of initiatives and drive cultural adaptation.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Proactively identify and address challenges and provide support to remove barriers as needed. Escalate critical issues and risks to leadership promptly, proposing solutions and recommendations.
- Performance Management: Establish performance measures via a comprehensive scorecard to monitor and analyze performance metrics for the T&P organization and based on results propose improvement initiatives as focus area and objective plans.
- Talent Management: Support the development of career path models, capability and skills mapping, internship and rotational programs for the T&P organization.
- Knowledge Sharing: Drive best practice and knowledge sharing across the technical community for copy and adapt success.
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in roles focused on manufacturing/operations improvements and/or project management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, execution methodologies, and translating strategies into actionable plans.
- Strong project and program management capabilities, including risk management and performance tracking.
- Advanced leadership abilities with proven experience in building and maintaining cross-functional relationships at all organizational levels and a demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and build consensus across diverse teams.
- Expert-level communication and facilitation skills, including stakeholder management and presentation abilities.
- Deep understanding of change management principles with the ability to drive cultural transformation and innovation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives while adapting to changing priorities.
- Excellence in documentation, reporting, and maintaining clear communication channels.
- Proven track record in fostering collaborative environments and building community.
- Initiative taker, eager to break new ground and create opportunities for others.
- Passionate about coaching and mentoring individuals and teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and collaborative team setting but also autonomously with limited direction.
- Strong time management skills and a demonstrated ability to work in both team and independent settings.
- Solid PC skills are essential with high proficiency in Google Suite.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- A Lean Six Sigma Professional Certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular office work environment.
- Ability to travel up to 50% is required.
- Preferred locations: New York City / New Jersey, Boston, Milwaukee or Houston.
