About The RoleThe Senior Manager, Internal Communications will lead employee and executive communication for the People and Places team. This person will work with leaders and teams to shape and tell the People and Places story to drive engagement and keep employees informed and inspired. In this role you will provide executive communications counsel and collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and execute internal communications campaigns. The ideal candidate is someone who can operate as both a strategic thought-partner and team lead who can work across the P&P function to create, align, and implement global communications programs. What You'll Do

• Oversee the development and execution of a strategic internal communications plan that aligns to P&P’s overarching strategy.
• Work with P&P executives to shape and communicate the P&P strategy to employees across the company.
• Develop close partnerships with P&P program managers and subject matter experts to advise, produce, and implement internal communication campaigns targeted to Uber employees.
• Build and organize internal comms systems and processes to keep P&P program managers aligned on communication priorities and work with them to craft a cohesive messaging strategy for their programs.
• Distill complex topics into compelling messages, build and manage creative campaigns, and design crisp written content.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in managing complex global internal communication programs in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Proven ability to manage and translate complex business issues into compelling and clear messages.
• Experience leading internal communications for people programs that include benefits, compensation, and issues management.
• Strong stakeholder management skills: proven ability to persuade, influence and respond to senior leaders and stakeholders; you are a confident and fact-based advisor to senior management who can balance multiple strategic directions and priorities.
• High-quality copywriting, speech writing, presentation planning and delivery skills.
• Drive communication activities to support transformation, change management and culture initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal skills: nonverbal and verbal, informing, presenting, engaging, convincing, aligning, and advising senior executives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in PR/communications ideally in a technology company.
• Communications experience at a publicly-traded company.
