Job Description

  • Serves as an integral part of the onsite primary care team, assisting employees in improving health through healthier choices.
  • Delivers outreach efforts to help engage employees in health and wellness, health fairs and group educational sessions, advocating for employees in health and wellness matters.
  • Implements nutritional care within established standards, planning therapeutic diets and performing nutritional assessments.
  • Educates employees on healthy eating and cooking, providing counseling and developing nutrition information.
  • Guides employees in the evidence-based Standards of Care for diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and other chronic diseases.
  • Contributes nutritional expertise to the cooks, educating on healthy eating habits and consulting on special nutritional requirements.
  • Works to provide balanced menu offerings to support the collaboration and innovation in a new model for health and wellness.
  • Conducts group and individual diabetes self-management education sessions using evidence-based protocols.
  • Reinforces the doctors and nurses recommendations and helps employees create plans to adhere to those recommendations.
  • Provides diabetes self-management training and education for employees with type 1, type2, and gestational diabetics. Education includes, but is not limited to, signs/symptoms and respective treatments for hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, DKA and HHNK.
  • Provides scheduled and adhoc reports on individual and group wellbeing education for employees
  • As required participates in outreach activities such as health fairs for diabetes screening and health education.
  • Monitors and evaluates short and long-term employee responses to therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the health care coordinator.
  • Identifies ways to improve care of employees and suggest recommendations
  • Supports the health care coordinator and executes other duties as requested
  • Supports organisational philanthropic, quality, and environmental initiatives across the site

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing, nutrition, Dietetics, health promotion or related field
  • Minimum 2 years related experience
  • Registered Dietitian (RD), or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). If not currently certified, certification to be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
  • Holds a valid full driving license
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Expert in using Office 365 applications e.g., Power point presentations, excel
  • Expert in reporting and presentation of data
