The Vice President of Finance/Controller is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and operations of the company. This role combines high-level financial leadership with hands-on accounting oversight, ensuring the company maintains strong financial controls, regulatory compliance, and effective reporting. The VP of Finance/Controller will work closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance, optimize business processes, and support strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
● Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
● Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team to drive business decisions.
● Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
● Oversee capital structure decisions, including debt financing and capital investments.
● Ensure the company meets all financial and regulatory requirements while optimizing cost efficiency.
Accounting & Financial Operations:
● Oversee the company's accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, and internal controls.
● Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and financial regulations.
● Manage and improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
● Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reconciliations.
● Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
Risk Management & Compliance:
● Develop and enforce financial policies, internal controls, and risk management procedures.
● Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, audits, and financial reporting requirements.
● Work with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
● Maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
Leadership & Team Development:
● Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
● Provide training and professional development opportunities to finance team members.
● Partner with department heads to ensure alignment between financial goals and business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
● CPA, CMA, or CFA designation strongly preferred.
● 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
● Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and corporate accounting principles.
● Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and risk management.
● Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
● Strong communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience in AdTech or MarTech is preferred.
● Familiarity with international financial operations.
We're required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances of each case, but a reasonable estimate of the current base range for this role is $200,000 - $225,000. Note that this range is specific to national metro areas and that offers take into account a wide variety of potential factors considered in compensation, including but not limited to skill, qualifications, accomplishments, experience, credentials, and business needs.
