Job Description

The Oracle Government Defense & Intelligence (GDI) Cloud Adoption Engineer position, a member of the Cloud Solution Engineering job family, is a highly visible and influential individual contributor role that works directly with our largest customers to support their most challenging projects. All our GDI customers have important Cloud initiatives, and this role combines hands-on technical expertise and experience working with senior leaders to help support their missions, and successfully deliver core enterprise services such as Identity Management, Networking, and Security Monitoring.

In this role you will help customers assess their own technical environments and apply cloud, database, application, middleware, server/OS, storage, networking, and security skills to guide their deployments in the Oracle Cloud. In addition to technical delivery, you will be a senior customer advocate, able to help them establish superior cloud onboarding procedures, shape important internal policies, and use your experience to help them build fully accredited solutions that best achieve their mission objectives. This is primarily a post-sales engineering role.

This is a HYBRID position based in the Washington/Virginia/DC area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to maintain a US Top Secret/SCI security clearance, with eligibility for polygraph.
  • 8+ years of experience with large enterprise/cloud-level information technology, cyber security, and compliance
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or related experience from AWS or Microsoft Azure, and developing cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud migration strategies and methods to move on-prem workloads and processes to Cloud environments, including networking and connectivity requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PaaS: Solid technical knowledge, ideally hands-on experience, with the Oracle software portfolio, including Oracle database, middleware, integration and development tools as well as security and IT management solutions (e.g. Enterprise Manager, Identity Management)
  • IaaS: Solid technical knowledge, ideally hands-on experience, with Cloud networking, Cloud connectivity strategies (e.g. VPN, FastConnect), compute services, operating systems (Linux, Windows), storage and virtualization technologies
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar) Experience with complex project management, especially in navigating through technical and organizational blockers associated with multi-cloud projects.
  • Direct knowledge/experience with US government contract and system accreditation processes (RFP to ATO)
  • Scripting/development experience in: Python, Java, Node.js, Bash, etc.
  • Experience and Knowledge of security guidelines and compliance frameworks: ICD503, DoD DISA Cloud Computing Security Guide(CCSRG), DoD DISA Secure Cloud Computing Architecture(SCCA), FEDRAMP, DoD IL2/4/5/6, DoD Security Technology Implementation Guidelines(STIG), PKI/CAC, FIPS, NIAP Common Criteria, IPv6, NIST, PCI, HIPAA, etc.
  • Networking & Security experience: networks, subnets, route tables, gateways, DNS services, load balancers, firewalls, auditing, logging, etc.
  • One or more certifications: OCI Associate Architect, OCI Architect Professional, AWS Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialist, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Cloud Architect Certification, Splunk Certified Enterprise Architect, Oracle Database, Oracle Weblogic, Network Associate, Network Professional, and Network Specialist certifications.
  • Current and active US Top Secret/SCI security clearance, with polygraph, is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Implementation Support:

  • Perform rapid assessments of customer’s internal technology & skills landscape, targeting use cases and deployment strategies for Oracle Cloud solutions
  • Onboard Oracle customers and partners to the Cloud, providing ongoing technical implementation assistance to ensure successful delivery and adoption of best practices across the entire Cloud lifecycle
  • Ensure that customer applications and databases are successfully built, migrated, and integrated in the Cloud

Customer Advocate, Escalation Manager and Support:

  • Serve as the customers’ advocate and provide feedback to product management and development organizations to enhance both Cloud Services and Oracle processes
  • Troubleshoot issues and facilitate problem resolution to ensure customers are maximizing their investment in Oracle Cloud solutions

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $141,800 to $232,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
