Accounting Manager

Mission Objectives
- Lead the accounting function, establishing process and developing the organization to deliver high quality financials.
- Prepare internal and external financial statements.
- Implement accounting processes, including the adoption of FAR principles.
- Coordinate, assist and respond to the external auditors during year-end audits.
- Run the monthly close process, including preparation or review of journal entries, lease accounting, trend analysis, and account reconciliations.
- Research and prepare technical accounting memos supporting impact of new or legacy accounting and reporting developments relevant to the company.
- Review contracts to identify any accounting impacts and confirm accounting treatment.
- Assist with the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of company accounting policies and internal controls.
- Provide ad-hoc financial support for information requests and company projects.
Mission Mandates
- Open to acquiring a DoD Secret clearance is required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required.
Mission Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education).
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
- Proven leadership abilities inclusive of hiring, successful change management, accountability, training, and conducting yearly reviews.
- Ability to draft technical accounting memos.
- Ability to assess the accounting for complex transactions through technical research.
- Extensive Microsoft Excel experience.
- Proficiency with accounting within ERP.
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal & presentation.
- Typically 2 - 4 years of relevant leadership or accounting management experience.
- NetSuite system proficiency.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and CAS.
