You’re an experienced data scientist with a curious mindset and an eye for simplifying complex problems. You’re practiced at framing data science problems and designing creative solutions that drive business impact, with hands-on experience in driving the growth and success of a company’s products through data-driven insights and strategies. You’re excited to collaborate cross functionally and to communicate your findings to ensure your work drives business impact.
Justworks is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data & Analytics team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and marketers, to identify opportunities, develop experiments, and implement data-driven solutions that optimize key product metrics and drive user engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
Your Success Profile
What You Will Work On
- Develop and lead end-to-end analytics projects, from defining metrics to analyzing data and delivering insights
- Conduct in-depth analyses to understand user behavior, identify growth opportunities, and evaluate the effectiveness of new product features
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and product health metrics, ensuring alignment with product and business goals
- Conduct A/B testing and experimentation to measure the impact of growth initiatives and identify optimization opportunities
- Build tools and frameworks to improve experimentation and measure incrementality of growth efforts
- Design and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, predict customer behavior, and unlock opportunities for growth across the customer lifecycle
- Partner closely with our Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to understand their goals and requirements
- Present and document key learnings and recommendations to teams in a manner that productively influences decisions
- Partner with the data engineering & analytics engineering teams to improve platform capabilities around data ingestion, data modeling, data quality, and insights generation
- Perform other related responsibilities as needed based on department and/or organizational needs.

Qualifications
- 7 years minimum of experience as a data scientist or analyst, with a track record of driving business impact through statistical analysis, experimentation, and predictive modeling
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate analyses into actionable strategies
- Track record of driving business impact through machine learning techniques
- Proficient in at least one statistical programming language (Python or R)
- Fluent in SQL
- Familiarity with a cloud-based data stack (e.g. Snowflake, dbt)
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup or a SaaS company is preferred
The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $167,500.00 to $184,250.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
