Optum is seeking a seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team for paralegal support of OptumHealth Solutions. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate responses to subpoenas and pre-litigation demands, perform marketing reviews and conduct legal research.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with attorneys and business partners to gather information involving disputes with customers and third parties
  • Gather records and respond to record requests and subpoenas
  • Perform legal research
  • Collaboratively work with internal legal staff on projects
  • Maintain organized internal records, including tracking status of dispute resolution activities and response to subpoenas and record requests
  • Review marketing materials and maintain legal guidelines
  • Track, monitor and report metrics as needed
  • Assist with the creation and preparation of meeting materials, presentations, trainings and other documents

Required Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent job-related experience
  • Experience in a litigation setting, or similar experience with dispute resolution
  • Experience independently managing workload of multiple competing deadlines and priorities
  • Knowledge of healthcare privacy laws
  • Solid proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
  • Proven solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven excellent attention to detail and solid organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years paralegal experience supporting litigation
  • Proven sound judgment and interpersonal agility to collaborate effectively with all individuals and teams
  • Proven comfort with uncertainty, with ability to proactively navigate a complex and heavily matrixed organization to effect results

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
