As a Senior Credit Risk Manager, you will play a critical role in credit underwriting, risk management, and portfolio oversight, ensuring sound decision-making and proactive risk mitigation in financing global trade. This role requires at least 5 years (7+ preferred) of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio risk management, and risk escalation strategies. You will be responsible for managing credit exposure, adjusting risk frameworks based on market conditions, and leading risk mitigation efforts including workouts, collections, and loss recovery strategies, while still engaging in underwriting responsibilities.

You Will:

  • Oversee credit risk management by assessing financial, operational, and market risks across a diverse set of industries.
  • Underwrite daily finance deal flow, including secured and unsecured credit structures, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Monitor and manage portfolio risk, proactively identifying deteriorating credits, assessing covenant compliance, and escalating concerns where necessary.
  • Adjust credit exposure based on market conditions, industry trends, and borrower-specific performance.
  • Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies, including workouts, restructurings, collections and loss recovery efforts.
  • Manage credit escalation processes, working with internal stakeholders to resolve high-risk exposures and ensure portfolio stability.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, evaluating borrower liquidity, collateral quality, and repayment capacity.
  • Lead credit reviews and present risk findings to senior leadership, influencing credit decisions and risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including origination, legal, and compliance to ensure well-structured credit facilities.

You Should Have:

  • 5+ years of experience (7+ preferred) in credit underwriting, risk management, and structuring credit transactions (secured and unsecured).
  • Strong expertise in portfolio risk management, credit reviews, and risk escalation strategies.
  • Experience in middle-market lending, trade finance, or investment banking with a focus on structured credit solutions.
  • Track record of managing risk exposure and implementing mitigation strategies in a dynamic lending environment.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate across business lines, and present to C-level executives.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to risk assessment and decision-making.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization skills, and strong verbal and written communication.
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance strongly preferred; MBA or CFA is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, and financial analysis tools (Pitchbook, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg a plus).
  • Experience in data analytics (SQL, Tableau, Looker) is beneficial but not required.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
The US base salary range for this position (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits):
$126,720$158,400 USD
