Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for designing and executing in vivo studies in the fields of infectious diseases and vaccines. The role will involve small animal handling and work, including:
- Designing & implementing animal models of pathogenic infection models in mice and vaccine immunogenicity studies in various animal species.
- Hands-on execution of in vivo studies involving infection, monitoring viremia, monitoring immune response, and tissue collection.
- Proficiency in preparation and dosing of agents via multiple routes of administration (including IM, PO, IP, SC, IN, and IV).
- Evaluation and implementation of novel in vivo techniques and technologies.
- Detailed record keeping of all experimental information in electronic lab notebooks.
- Conducting safety assessments and toxicology studies in small animal models.
- Analyzing and interpreting complex data sets from in vivo experiments.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and optimize experimental protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant animal welfare regulations and institutional guidelines.
- Preparing and presenting research findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Mentoring junior scientists and technicians in animal handling techniques and experimental procedures.
- Staying current with the latest developments in infectious disease research and vaccine development.
- Contributing to the writing of research reports, publications, and grant proposals.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences, toxicology, or related field with 1-2 years of small animal handling experience OR Master's degree in the same fields with 0-1 year experience.
- Experience with rodent handling, injections (IP, IC, IM, IV, SQ), observations, and necropsy.
- Knowledge of cGMPs and experience working in a GMP environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills with excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, learn new techniques, and comply with company policies.
- Experience with Biologics Release Testing in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Additional Details:
This position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with overtime as needed and the potential for some off-shift hours, depending on the project. Candidates living within a commutable distance of West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
