Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

We are looking for a Senior Reconciliation Accountant to join our team and take ownership of complex reconciliations for BILL payment products including new products being launched. This role will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy through reconciliation execution, process automation, and supporting implementation/testing. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, Product, and Engineering to improve reconciliation workflows, resolve discrepancies, and support the launch of new payment products.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to define reconciliation requirements for new payment flows and system enhancements
  • Monitor and reconcile payment transactions of incoming and outgoing data within Bill’s internal database to ensure proper recording of the funds held by customers’ accounts.
  • Research exception items thoroughly and in a timely manner, and drive them to resolution in collaboration with bank reps, Payment Operations, Finance, Product and Dev teams
  • Assist with audits and reporting needs as needed across the company and ensure internal controls are in accordance with SOX
  • Assist with the preparation of audit schedules, compliance reports and or other ad hoc reports in respective areas of responsibilities
  • Perform regular closing activities such as journal entries and reconciliations
  • Strong focus on process improvements and automation
  • Maintain operational reconciliation and exception procedures, addressing potential changes due to new products, system, and improvements
  • Actively look for opportunities to standardize processes / automate / eliminate nonvalue added activities and implement them for process improvements.
  • Support other groups with ad hoc analyses

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, reconciliation, or financial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and reconciliation best practices
  • Experience with high-volume transaction matching in a financial services or payments environment
  • Hands-on experience with Blackline, SQL, or other reconciliation tools
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Power Query)
  • Big 4 and public company experience preferred
  • Experience in banking or fintech preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong data analysis, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player, energetic, detail-oriented and a self-starter
  • Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Have the ability to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, be a team player, and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

$90,500$108,200 USD

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

Draper UT pay range
$76,900$91,900 USD
