About the role
We are seeking an experienced reinsurance underwriter to join Coalition’s fast growing Coalition Re team. This individual will have responsibilities over creating new reinsurance products, accelerating growth of existing products, P&L,, establishing and managing senior level relationships with reinsurance brokers and cedants, and maintaining and building relationships with capacity partners. The Reinsurance Underwriter must be well versed in building profitable books of reinsurance business and managing all aspects of the deal cycle including marketing, underwriting, modeling, and pricing.
This is a fully remote position.
Responsibilities
- Review, price, and set terms for reinsurance submissions
- Assist in the development of new reinsurance products
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams, claims, modeling, and pricing, to grow premium
- Develop and manage new senior-level relationships with reinsurance brokers and cedants, including travel to key strategic relationships
- Manage existing reinsurance broker and capacity partner relationships
- Build and maintain carrier/capacity relationships for reinsurance programs
- Ensure consistent underwriting and a profitable book of business
- Manage quarterly and annual budgeting targets
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the cyber reinsurance marketplace and trends, Coalition’s capabilities, and corporate vision
- Represent Coalition at an executive level at industry events and conferences
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years years of cyber reinsurance underwriting experience
- Proven track record of success in building portfolios and growing premium at an accelerated pace to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
- Prior experience managing and/or working cross-functionally, particularly with modeling and actuarial functions
- Strong sales, communication, and marketing skills; adept at representing Coalition Re in the marketplace
- Deep understanding of cyber risk market, including trends in coverage, underwriting, and segment loss history
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with a creative approach to challenges and opportunities
- 4-year college degree preferred
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $180,000.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,000.00/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process. Coalition, Inc. reserves the right to modify this range as needed.
