About the role

The tracing team is responsible for the full stack of tracing offering from ingestion of customer data to surfacing innovative features in our observability platform. We are looking for an experienced engineer who has worked on large scale distributed systems and has a proven track record of solving complex technical problems and is excited to work on a product development team.

You Will

  • Own complex features and partner with Design, Product and other Engineers to shape and deliver them

  • Design, implement, and operate high volume services in Go on top of Kubernetes/AWS/ClickHouse

  • Collaborate with engineers and be in a fast paced environment that unlocks accelerated learning and growth for your career

  • Deliver high quality software at a fast pace upholding our best in class reliability standards

What you will achieve

In the first 3 months, you will build a deep understanding of Chronosphere’s tracing product and learn about the domain, our customer’s needs, the underlying technology and how we deliver changes. You will start to contribute changes to our product in a manner that enables you to learn quickly. You will build relationships by working closely with your team.

After 3 months, you will independently own features on our roadmap from scoping all the way to delivery to production. You will partner with product, design and other engineers, as need be to deliver these projects. You will start to build relationships across teams.

You have

  • The ability to independently own projects from inception to delivery(i.e. plan and gather requirements, collaborate with Product, Design, Engineers)

  • Experience in working with large scale distributed systems

  • A passion for solving complex problems and ability to empathize with customers

  • The curiosity and motivation to learn deep complex domain areas

  • The habit to seek feedback to improve your work and the ability to ask for help when you need it

  • A flexible, collaborative working style. We’re a small team working in a rapidly evolving space, and we’re looking for people that will help build a positive, supportive environment

  • Fluency in a system level language such as Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust. Knowing a specific language isn’t important; what matters is that you’ve become fluent in one by spending a lot of time on the types of projects where these languages are used
